Chopard’s long standing relationship with the Mille Miglia race since its revival back in 1977. The brand has been the official timekeeper of the event since 1988 and has time and again released watches paying homage to the race. This year, Chopard dedicated the all new Mille Miglia 2021 Race Edition timepiece to the 39th historical re-enactment of “The Race of the Red Arrow” 1000 Miglia race that takes place this year from the 16th to the 19th of June.
The prestigious 1000 Miglia is undoubtedly the most beautiful car race in the world, (“la corsa più bella del mondo” as true aficionados call it). From 1988 until today, in honour of the event, Chopard has offered iconic watches with a resolutely sporty character tinged with Classic Racing accents and featuring a blend of distinctive elegance and Dolce Vita.
In 2021, Chopard introduced two new limited editions of the Mille Miglia GTS, the ultimate sports watches and we are deighted to present these at ROX. These are the quintessential watch of true car aficionados, inspired by the classic designs and vintage spirit of cars produced between 1941 and 1957; building a bridge between automotive engineering and mechanical watchmaking by merging precision, comfort and elegance, thus making them the perfect drivers’ auxiliary.
SPORTY IN STEEL
In intense grey and silver, this steel GTS is a day to night sports watch with an elegant allure. This 44 mm chronograph features a calfskin bracelet inspired by racing gloves, complete with a rubber lining and red detailing. Limited to 1,000 pieces. Chronometer certified by the COSC.
RACING IN ROSE GOLD
This rose gold and steel GTS is a powerful watch. Short lugs ensure a perfect fit while a calfskin leather bracelet, inspired by the 1960s Dunlop racing tyres motif, brings presence and comfort. This 250-piece limited edition is a veritable talisman for a new generation of drivers. Chronometer certified by the COSC.
GTS POWER CONTROL
With the Mille Miglia GTS Power Control, Chopard unveils a new, limited edition watch inspired by the evocative world of classic automobiles. Featuring a stainless steel case and a splendid blue dial, this watch have a Chronometer-certified, self-winding movement offering 60 hours of power reserve and dials and straps inspired by the tones of historic competition cars.
2020 RACE EDITION
The 2020 edition is equipped with a 42-hour power reserve and a stop-second function, this self-winding mechanical chronograph movement, a COSC-certified Chronometer, ticks at a frequency of 28,800 oscillations per hour (4Hz). It has a central hour, minute and second display and also shows the date with the precision and elegance that characterise Chopard. Limited to 1,000 watches in microblasted DLC-coated stainless steel.
CHOPARD’S HAUTE HORLOGERIE VISION
Designed in the spirit of high-performance race cars and impelled by the same quest for technical refinement and innovation, the Mille Miglia Lab One is undoubtedly the most extreme to date in the line of Chopard timepieces inspired by the world of racing. This is the first time that the Maison’s R&D labs have developed a concept watch representing a condensed expression of all the technologies expressing Chopard’s vision of tomorrow’s Haute Horlogerie. In an approach similar to that of concept cars, and which confirms the enduring ties between automobiles and watchmaking, Karl-Friedrich Scheufele selected the Maison’s best design engineers, watchmakers and experts with a mandate to imagine the future of sporting Haute Horlogerie in the strictest secrecy.
