BREMONT LAUNCHES 2022 NOVELTIES

10th March 2022

This week we’ve had the pleasure of spending some time with our friends at Bremont at their magnificent technology and manufacturing centre in Henley-upon-Thames, aptly named The Wing.

We got the chance to see the new 2022 collections up close whilst rubbing shoulders with some of Bremont’s ambassadors including F1 racing driver Alex Albon and adventurers Aldo Kane and Jason Fox, all of whom have been busy putting Bremont’s new novelties through their paces.

WILLIAMS RACING F1

TRUE TECHNICAL PARTNERSHIP

Bremont and Williams Racing build on a truly iconic British partnership with the release of the ‘Bremont WR-22’ ahead of the 2022 F1 season. The design of the WR-22 embodies Bremont’s maxim of being ‘Tested beyond Endurance’ bringing together high performance and extreme durability, a perfect fit for the Williams Racing team who will be putting the watch through its paces throughout the F1 calendar. As Official Timing Partner to Williams Racing, Bremont sought to create a racing inspired watch that celebrated one of the most iconic teams in Formula 1 that’s still going today. The 43mm chronograph incorporates a bi-directional tachymeter, a must have for timing that running mile, and the dial configuration is wonderfully reminiscent of some of the classical motoring chronographs of old.

The Bremont WR-22 thoughtfully weaves in the Williams Racing colour palette of oxford blue, electric blue and white. The black ceramic rotating bezel frames a crisp white dial with flashes of Williams electric blue and oxford blue seen on the 12 hour counter. Turning the watch over reveals its custom decorated tungsten rotor inspired by the Williams Racing car wheel rim and featuring the Williams Racing logo. The WR-22 timepiece has a 42 hour power reserve and comes on a new Alcantara strap, a material traditionally used for racing car steering wheels. A steel bracelet option is also available for a more formal and contemporary aesthetic. Uniquely, each watch will come with an original wheel nut from historic Williams Racing cars, certified by Williams Racing. A true memento of British racing history.

ALL BLACK EVERYTHING

INSPIRED BY MILITARY NIGHT OPERATIONS BREMONT RELEASES THE S502 JET AND THE SUPERMARINE CHRONO JET

The S502 Jet features GMT and date functionality as well as an impressive 500m water resistance. The timepiece has an automatic helium escape valve and crown protector, and the stealthy design aesthetic of the watch is complemented by Bremont’s vintage ’51’ lume. The black ceramic bezel features markers infilled with Super- LumiNova, along with the applied indexes and hands. The burnt orange GMT hand further enhances legibility. Still very much aviation inspired, the S502 Jet has a closed case back decorated with an engraving of the Supermarine Seaplane, something that has become somewhat of a trademark of this range.

In parallel the Supermarine Chrono Jet, modelled on the rugged Supermarine Chrono, has been carefully reimagined in a black DLC finish.

Inspired by high-risk military night operations, Bremont presents the S502 Jet and the Supermarine Chrono Jet, two robust and tactical timepieces in an anti-reflective, black DLC treatment.

The black dial boasts contrasting white sub dials and features a bi-directional ceramic and etched bezel, clearly displaying the markings for the 24 hour functionality. The Supermarine Chrono Jet is water resistant to 200m and features highly legible bronze hands filled with Super-LumiNova for increased visibility, particularly useful in night conditions.

LIMITED EDITION DAMBUSTER

BREMONT INTRODUCES THE LIMITED EDITION DAMBUSTER, COMMEMORATING THE 80th ANNIVERSARY OF THE LANCASTER BOMBER AND THE HISTORIC DAMBUSTERS RAID

The Limited Edition Dambuster forms part of Bremont’s Armed Forces Collection, paying tribute to Her Majesty’s Armed Forces. Through Bremont’s partnership with the MoD, the British watchmaker became the sole luxury watch producer legitimately allowed to use the signs, symbols, and Heraldic Badges of all three services; the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force for which Bremont is immensely proud.

With design cues from many of the military watches of the 1940s, the 42mm chrono features a mono pusher movement and date function, ‘aviator’ style hands across the dial and sub- dials and a red centre second chrono hand for readability. The military aesthetic is enhanced by Bremont’s iconic ‘51’ vintage lume, set against a ‘Dirty Dozen’ inspired black military dial.

Turning the watch over reveals a closed case back with an elegant engraving of the Avro Lancaster and the heraldic badge of the 617 squadron, formed in 1943 at RAF Scampton, specifically for the Dambusters Raid using the Barnes Wallis-designed upkeep ‘bouncing bomb’. Rather poignantly the case back also features each of the call signs of the 8 Lancaster Bombers that never returned, namely: ‘Sugar’, ‘Charlie’, ‘Apple’, ‘Zebra’, ‘Baker’, ‘King’, ‘Easy’ and ‘Mother’.

This new 232 piece limited edition nods to the speed at which the Lancaster had to fly (232mph).

BRONZE ARGONAUT

THE ARGONAUT BRONZE JOINS THE ARMED FORCES COLLECTION IN PARTNERSHIP WITH BRITAIN’S MINISTRY OF DEFENCE

Further to the success of the Broadsword Bronze, Bremont is extending its bronze offering with the introduction of the Argonaut Bronze. The Argonaut forms part of Bremont’s Armed Forces Collection, paying tribute to Her Majesty’s Armed Forces and, as a dive watch, the Argonaut is specifically dedicated to the Navy.

The 42mm Argonaut Bronze, available with either a traditional black military dial or a naval blue ‘sargasso’ dial, houses a three- handed chronometer rated BE-92AV movement. With water resistance to 300m, this military dive watch has been designed for optimum legibility with the application of Super-LumiNova® to the bronze hands and dial indexes along with a red tipped seconds hand.

It also features an internal rotating bezel operated by the crown at 4 o’clock, perfect for timing underwater excursions, a date function at 3 o’clock and a 38 hour power reserve.

SUPERMARINE DESCENT II

BREMONT BRINGS BACK THE ‘DESCENT’ WITH THE SUPERMARINE DESCENT II

Bremont brings back the ‘Descent’ with the release of the Supermarine Descent II, a striking new addition to the renowned Supermarine 500 collection. Practical, robust and beautifully engineered, the 43mm Supermarine 500 diving watch follows an impressive line of marine predecessors which are not only iconic in design but highly durable and extensively tested out in the field. The Supermarine Descent II is named as a tribute to the original Limited Edition Bremont Supermarine Descent, the brand’s first limited edition dive watch.

The Special Edition Supermarine Descent II is made from aviation grade titanium and bronze boasting a 42 hour power reserve with GMT functionality. The bronze hands and applied bronze indexes are set against a black dial and filled with Super-LumiNova whilst the uni-directional rotating bronze bezel features a sapphire insert.

Extensive development in the UK by Bremont has led to the design and construction of the ‘Anti-Shock’ movement mount to help protect it against large shocks. As such the Supermarine range has been extensively tried and tested across countless military units to date due to its high performance and durability.
