TAG Heuer and Porsche have joined forces to celebrate the power in precision.

A combined commitment to the high-octane world of motorsport and racing is ingrained in the DNA of both luxury powerhouses, as the duo forges a new long-term collaboration.

The result? A new special edition watch, the TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph.

Fuelled by a rich motor racing history and led by visionary families driven by a passion for precision and performance, the new timepiece is a modern icon with a deep rooted history.

Carrera is a name that has long been associated with TAG Heuer and Porsche for generations, making it the natural choice for the first offering in the new collaboration.

Speaking of the partnership TAG Heuer CEO Frédéric Arnault said: “TAG Heuer and Porsche have common history and values, of course, but more importantly, we share an attitude.”

“Like Porsche, we are disruptors at heart, always in pursuit of high performance.”

“With this alliance, TAG Heuer and Porsche finally come together officially after decades of close encounters and will create unmatched experiences and products for customers and fans that are passionate about both our brands and what we stand for.”

Just as a competitive spirit lies at the heart of both TAG Heuer and Porsche, enthusiasts of the brands follow suit.

Not simply observers, they are thrill seekers armed with a determination to capture the magic of every moment – something the collaboration seeks to celebrate.

“The strong friendship of our brand with TAG Heuer has existed for decades and I’m more than happy that we are now taking the next steps in the form of a strategic partnership,” Datlev von Platen of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG added.

“We bring together what our customers love the most about both of us: authentic heritage, thrilling sports events, unique life experiences and the fulfilment of dreams.”

“We both strive to create unique, magic moments for our communities and look forward to doing it together.”

One name. Two legends. Reignited.

TAG Heuer and Porsche have joined forces to celebrate the power in precision.

The TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche chronograph pays homage to the heritage of the unforgettable brands both on and off the racetrack.

From the launch of the first Heuer Carrera chronograph in 1963 – designed to let drivers tell the time at a glance, when every second counts – to a the now unmistakable TAG Heuer and Porsche partnership in Steve McQueen blockbuster Le Mans, together each epitomise the glory days of motorsport.

So, what can we expect from their first offering?

An exquisite example of coordination the 44mm brushed steel chronograph is based on the TAG Heuer Carrera Sport Chronograph design.

Inspired by Porsche’s design essence, this watch exudes performance and innovation with every tick.

Boasting Porsche’s inscription on the bezel and incorporating the brand colours of red, black and grey, the watch also incorporates an exclusive asphalt effect dial. Meanwhile Arabic numerals suggest the numbers on the dashboard of fine Porsche sports cars.

Lift the hood of the modern masterpiece and you’ll discover the in-house Calibre Heuer 02 manufacture movement with an 80-hour power reserve. The chronograph mechanism’s vertical clutch and column wheel demonstrate the brands ’unflinching demand for absolute precision.

The official partnership between TAG Heuer and Porsche may be on its starting line but it has been built on a remarkable foundation: the shared heritage and the common interests of two of the world’s favourite and most dynamic luxury brands.

It’s a collaboration developed over decades on some of the world’s most challenging racetracks and on the wrists of drivers who were the very embodiment of Jack Heuer’s motto: “Time doesn’t stop. Why should we?”

Overshadowed for too long by its square-jawed cousin, the Monaco, TAG Heuer’s Autavia is re-establishing itself on pole position as the true petrolhead’s go-to instrument.

Fifty years ago, to the background of Vietnam, Led Zeppelin and the Moon landings, Switzerland was undergoing its own revolution – the first spin of the chronograph’s winding rotor, to be precise.
