Champagne Laurent-Perrier was founded in 1812 but their story is really one of modern renaissance. In 1939 Eugénie Laurent sold the House to the de Nonancourt family and in 1948 Madame Claude de Nonancourt passed control of the House to her son Bernard. Full of energy and ideas, Bernard was never afraid to challenge convention with his modern vision of a champagne, that would be cleaner on the palate and could be enjoyed any time. He brought innovation and a pioneering spirit to the House, from which the Laurent-Perrier style of elegance and freshness was born. Today, it’s his two daughters, Alexandra and Stephanie who carry on this fine legacy at the Champagne House.

As part of this, Champagne Laurent-Perrier continues its commitment to quality and ecological growing practices. As a recognition of these achievements, Champagne Laurent-Perrier is the only champagne house to be awarded the Royal Warrant of HRH The Prince of Wales in 1998 and has proudly carried it ever since.

New for 2017, Belmond also takes an interest in reaching out to the natural world most notably this year with its participation in the inaugural (Royal Horticultural Society) Chatsworth Flower Show. Their show garden designed by Butter Wakefield, entitled Belmond Enchanted Gardens will be on show from 7-11 June, 2017. The show aims to blend tradition with unexpected, innovative design – the very essence of Belmond’s portfolio of landmark hotels, great train journeys and pioneering river cruises and safaris in some of the world’s most inspiring and enriching destinations. Belmond Enchanted Gardens will be an immersive garden experience that takes inspiration from Belmond’s legendary locations. The surprise of a poetic staircase to go wherever the imagination desires with the promise of genuine hospitality, from first light to moonlight.

Belmond is offering visitors the chance to travel to the RHS Chatsworth Flower Show on board their two luxury day trains. Belmond British Pullman departs from London on 7th June 2017 while Belmond Northern Belle will depart from Preston, Bolton and Manchester on 9th June 2017 with prices starting from £360pp. Guests on this journey to Chatsworth House can also explore the redesigned Trout stream which provided inspiration for the Laurent-Perrier Chatsworth Garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2015 which won best in show.

As a further touch of luxury and innovation, this year sees Belmond Royal Scotsman launching their Bamford Hayburn Spa. The first spa carriage of its kind in the UK to feature aboard Belmond’s portfolio of luxury trains and features bespoke Bamford treatments for passengers travelling on overnight rail journeys throughout Scotland and Great Britain, departing from Edinburgh Waverley. British wellness brand Bamford was established in 2006 and is inspired by nature, with botanical skincare collections and holistic treatments that are made using organic ingredients certified by the Soil Association.
