ROX AND HUBLOT KICK OFF 2018 WORLD CUP CELEBRATIONS IN STYLE
GUESTS HAD A BALL AT THE HUBLOT WORLD CUP TABLE FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT IN GLASGOW’S ICONIC ARGYLL ARCADE
1st June 2018
It may be less than two weeks until the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia kicks off but all eyes were on Glasgow’s Argyll Arcade on last night (Thursday, May 31) as ROX and Hublot transformed the iconic mall into a football pitch in celebration of the beautiful game.
More than 150 guests, including rugby players Finn Russell and Rory Hughes, enjoyed an evening of champagne, cocktails and competition at the show stopping event. As well as a special beer tasting by West Brewery and football inspired snacks from Rusk and Rusk, guests were invited to take part in a World Cup tournament of their very own.
Hosted by respected football pundit and Sky Sports broadcaster Geoff Shreeves 32 teams battled it out over 80 games of table football in format of 2018’s tournament to be in with the chance of scoring the top prize of two pairs of tickets to any group stage match of the Champions League next year with flights and accommodation. And it was clients Dan Taylor and Joe Pia, representing Uruguay, clinched the coveted title of champions.
Speaking of the event Kyron Keogh, ROX Managing Director said: “With the FIFA World Cup kicking off in Russia in less than two weeks’ time we were thrilled to bring a little football magic to Glasgow with 32 teams battling it out over 80 games of table football following the format of the World Cup.
“The relationship between ROX and Hublot is a special one for Grant and I. Our unique retail experience and different approach resonated with Hublot and they were the first luxury brand to support ROX over five years ago. They are quite simply the most innovative and exciting luxury watch brand in the world and we are proud to be Hublot’s exclusive partner in Scotland.”
While Benoit Lecigne, General Manager for Hublot in the United Kingdom, France, Belux, Eastern Europe and Scandinavia added: “Hublot and ROX have a long standing partnership and ROX were a natural choice to team up with for this event as they embody a truly unique retail experience. Hublot is counting down the days to the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia in style here in the home of Scottish football.”
Guests also had the chance to get their hands on the limited edition Hublot Big Bang Referee 2018 World Cup Russia – developed by the brand for this year’s tournament. Following a request by FIFA, referees will don Hublot’s first smart watch on the pitch throughout the tournament.
