The result? A new special edition watch, the TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph.

The TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche chronograph pays homage to the heritage of the unforgettable brands both on and off the racetrack.

 

From the launch of the first Heuer Carrera chronograph in 1963 – designed to let drivers tell the time at a glance, when every second counts – to a the now unmistakable TAG Heuer and Porsche partnership in Steve McQueen blockbuster Le Mans, together each epitomise the glory days of motorsport.

 

So, what can we expect from their first offering?

 

An exquisite example of coordination the 44mm brushed steel chronograph is based on the TAG Heuer Carrera Sport Chronograph design.

 

Inspired by Porsche’s design essence, this watch exudes performance and innovation with every tick.

 

Boasting Porsche’s inscription on the bezel and incorporating the brand colours of red, black and grey, the watch also incorporates an exclusive asphalt effect dial. Meanwhile Arabic numerals suggest the numbers on the dashboard of fine Porsche sports cars.

 

Lift the hood of the modern masterpiece and you’ll discover the in-house Calibre Heuer 02 manufacture movement with an 80-hour power reserve. The chronograph mechanism’s vertical clutch and column wheel demonstrate the brands ’unflinching demand for absolute precision.

 

The official partnership between TAG Heuer and Porsche may be on its starting line but it has been built on a remarkable foundation: the shared heritage and the common interests of two of the world’s favourite and most dynamic luxury brands.

 

It’s a collaboration developed over decades on some of the world’s most challenging racetracks and on the wrists of drivers who were the very embodiment of Jack Heuer’s motto: “Time doesn’t stop. Why should we?”
