Hublot, the so-called bad boys of haute horlogerie, have proved themselves more than capable of creating beautiful, refined and, quite simply, classy timepieces. The two models featured here are a perfect example of this mode of design, and they build on the foundations laid by previous Classic Fusion models.

The typical size for a Classic Fusion Chronograph is 45mm, and while this is ideally proportioned for many, there are occasions that would lend themselves to a slightly smaller case size. Being the smart, receptive and switched-on people they are, Hublot identified this need, and have released a selection of Classic Fusion Chronographs in a 42mm case size. On both of these timepieces the newly proportioned cases are crafted from polished and satin-finished titanium, which perfectly matches the ‘porthole’ bezel.

Hublot have also chosen to employ the symmetrical and minimalist dial layout that has proved so popular, and the satin-sunray finishing gives the dials of both watches incredible depth. The contrast between this and the rhodium plated appliques and hands results in a beautifully clean finish, and seems to pull the whole watch together.

One of the stumbling blocks encountered by timepieces intended to carry this formal appeal, but also to remain useable and functional, is the strap choice. Hublot have absolutely nailed this difficult decision by combining an alligator leather outer with a natural rubber inner, which wicks away sweat and keeps the leather looking pristine for far longer. The upshot of this is that the Classic Fusion has the wow factor necessary to be worn only on special occasions, but is also a timepiece that can be worn day in, day out.

The final decision to make with regards to the Classic Fusions is colour. Hublot have again made an effort to cater to as many watch lovers as possible, and the featured pieces are available in either Blue or Racing Grey. Both of these are incredibly hot colours at the moment, and the combination of satin-sunray finished dial and coloured alligator leather strap is absolutely gorgeous.
