WHAT MAKES HUBLOT’S PIONEERING SPIRIT TICK
3rd February 2018
Think of Hublot and the brand’s bold designs are more than likely the first things that spring to mind. A champion of the Art of Fusion, the brand has continually taken strides to create truly remarkable timepieces that exceed expectation. Not content with sticking with the status quo Hublot has earned a reputation for designs that dare to be different through the combination of diverse and forward thinking materials.
The brand has also given a 21st century touch to the art of traditional watchmaking, creating its own in-house manufacture. The Unico, which took two years to research, features 330 individually assembled components, while the original Unico movement features an integrated flyback chronograph with a column-wheel mechanism positioned on the dial side of the movement – not usual practice in the world of haute horlogerie. Here we shine a spotlight on three models proud to boast the unique manufacture.
Big Bang Unico Carbon Watch
The strength of Hublot’s success lies in its ability to continually innovate and the Big Bang Unico Carbon is a prime example of exactly that. Made of 330 components this masculine timepiece features a 45mm Carbon Fibre case with black rubber and satin-finished titanium crown and pushers. Meanwhile the dial features the Hublot logo and rhodium-plated upper layer indexes and white luminescent satin-finished and microblasted rhodium-plated hands. Water resistant to 10ATM, this luxury timepiece also features the HUB1242 Unico manufacture selfinding chronograph flyback movement with column wheel.
Big Bang Unico Titanium Watch
For those who like their watch to leave an impression, the Big Bang Unico Titanium is a must have. There is no denying that the striking 45mm model commands attention. This remarkable model features a polished and satin finished titanium case and black structured lined rubber strap with titanium clasp and titanium insert deployant buckle. This impressive design also boasts the HUB1242 Unico manufacture self-winding chronograph flyback movement with column wheel.
Big Bang Unico GMT Carbon Watch
For the travelling man the Big Bang Unico GMT carbon watch is the essential companion. Not a design for the wall-flowers out there, it is a remarkable timepiece that proudly features a blue and mat black skeletonised dial. The 45mm timepiece is a unique addition to the Big Bang collection and boasts an engraved dual-time bezel with blue composite resin lower bezel with titanium screws. What’s more, this remarkable carbon fibre timepiece is also fitted with the Unico manufacture self-winding GMT movement with power reserve of 72 hours. This model comes with interchangeable black and blue rubber straps with carbon fibre and black plated titanium deployment clasp.
