Looking back over the last 10 years there has been some memorable bridal moments across the globe. From lavish extravaganzas to intimate nuptials we take a look at the most iconic brides since 2009.
2009
Mexican actress Salma Hayek married French tycoon Francois-Henri Pinault in Paris. They wed in the town hall in St Germain. A few months later the couple celebrated with a second star-studded ceremony in Venice Opera House. The guest list included names such as Bono, Penelope Cruz and Woody Harrelson who welcomed guests by singing “Over The Rainbow”. The nuptials cost $3.5million.
2011
Often described as the wedding of the 21st century, Prince William and Kate Middleton wed at Westminster Abbey in London. The fairytale nuptials reportedly cost $34 million, of which $32 million went into security. Kate wore a dress designed by British designer Sarah Burton who is Creative Director of luxury fashion label Alexander McQueen. The gown cost around £250,000 making it one of the most expensive dresses ever made.
2016
Singer Ciara and Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson held a royal reception at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire. Kelly Rowland and Jennifer Hudson were in attendance along with Earth Wind & Fire who introduced the couple. Ciara wore a one off Roberto Cavalli couture wedding gown with a cathedral length train handcrafted in Milan while the groom wore Giorgio Armani. Ciara’s ring is nothing short of extravagant, the round brilliant cut totals at 16 carats – and flawless.
2019
In quite admirable fashion Heidi Klum and Tom Kaulitz reportedly wed back in February of this year, two months after their engagement. The couple have yet to confirm their marriage however, obtained a confidential marriage certificate in California. The mystery behind their marriage makes it all the more exciting.
